Step 2. Mounting
Using a level find the highest point on the floor that the cupboard will be mounted on and draw a line on the wall across the entire width of the cupboard indicating this level.
Starting at one end of the cupboard, mount a seen end to the wall using the line you have just drawn as the base line, ensuring that the edged side of the seen end is facing forward.Mounting of the seen end is done by drilling a hole into the wall and attaching the wall bracket to the wall with the wall anchor.Make sure that the panel is level front to back and top to bottom, this can be achieved by packing the underside of the panel.
Attach the top, middle and bottom fixed shelves onto the screws in holes 7,16 & 72 by pushing down on the shelf to locate it onto the screws.Again ensure that the edging is facing forward.
Now attach the next end (common or seen ,depending on the cupboard) to these shelves and attach this end to the wall using the wall anchor as above.
Continue in this manner until the entire carcass of the cupboard is assembled.
Once this is completed the movable shelves can be fitted using the shelf fittings and can be placed anywhere using the pre-drilled holes.+\- 400-450mm between shelves is recommended.
The doors can now be attached to the ends by sliding the hinge over the base plate and clipping the rear of the hinge fitting into place, this is best achieved by starting with the hinge at the bottom of the door and working upwards from there. If the cupboard is level the doors should need little or no adjustment, however the hinges are adjustable in all three directions using the adjusting screws provided on the hinges.
Plinths: You will have been supplied with 2 lengths of plinth one of which will be edged on one side.
Base plinth:(not edged)This plinth fits underneath the base shelf and runs from the inside of the seen end across the front of the party wall side(if applicable) to the inside of the outer chip-side or seen end.If a party wall is present this must be notched out 100mm high at the base and top of the side.We have made this easier for you by pre-cutting the vertical cut.The plinth is then fixed in place to the sides and through the shelf using panel pins.
Top plinth: The top plinth is fitted the same way as the base plinth however the edged side must face downwards as this will be visible from inside the unit.If no top shelf is in place this plinth is only secured through the sides.
Fascia's (where applicable) are screwed to the outside of the Seen ends and top plinths.
The final step before your cupboard is complete is to use a silicon or acrylic filler to fill any gaps between the cupboard and the wall. Any glue or dirt marks on the cupboard or doors can be removed using thinners.
